Imperial Accession Day – Hyogo Cultural Centre Closure

Emperor Akihito will abdicate on April 30 and his son, Crown Prince Naruhito, will take the throne on May 1 signalling the start of the Reiwa Era.  In honour of this momentous occasion, just for 2019, Japan has designated April 30 a public holiday and May 1st Imperial Accession Day.  Given the magnitude of this event Hyogo Cultural Centre will also pay our respects by closing on Tuesday, April 30 and Wednesday, May 1, 2019.  We will then be open as normal from Thursday, May 2 onwards.
