Saturdays, 1:30pm to 3:30pm Chatterbox – casual language exchange opportunity. Great chance to make new friends!  There is no need to be fluent in either Japanese or English – you just need to have an interest in Japan / Australia connections.  Free for members and $2 to cover tea / coffee for non members.

Saturday, Jan 27 Special Australia Day Chatterbox – Sausage Sizzle and Kakigori (ice slushy) for $5 for members and $7 non-members.  Everyone welcome! 1:30pm – 3:30pm

Saturday, March 10 Perth Japan Festival in Forrest Place, Perth City.  Come and see us between 11am and 6pm to buy some very special kendama (wooden toys) and origami paper.  Hurry! Stocks will be limited.

April 26 & 28 onwards New Thursday morning and Saturday morning Japanese Conversation courses commence.  Please see the flyer for dates and relevant fees. Places are limited so please book as soon as possible!!

Thursday, July 5 Special Thursday Morning Chatterbox Artist’s Talk & Obento with Mutsuko Bonnardeaux – $20 per head for Members and $25 for Non-Members. Bookings and pre-payment essential.
Saturday, July 14 JLPT Preparation Session – Introduction. This session will suit anyone planning to sit the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.  Everyone is welcome for the introductory session.  Sessions will continue fortnightly from August onwards.
Thursday, July 19 & Saturday, July 21 Japanese Language Conversation Course for Adults commences (10 week course)
Saturday, July 28 Special Chatterbox welcoming 72 students and 11 teachers from a variety of Hyogo Prefectural Government high schools. 1:30pm-3pm
Friday, August 31 Wood Job – free film screening at Hyogo Cultural Centre from 6pm thanks to Japan Foundation Sydney
August 1 – Sept 6 **REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED Online registration period for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.  Registrations can only be processed online and must be done during this period in order to sit the test in December 2018.  Please make sure you select the correct city for taking the test and only choose one level. The tests are all held at the same time so it is impossible to sit more than one level in December. Here is the online link to register.

October 5 & 6 Mameshiba – rated PG. Free Film Screening thanks to Japan Foundation, Sydney.  The film will be shown on Friday, October 5 at 10:30am and at 4pm on Saturday, October 6 at Hyogo Cultural Centre.  Films are screened in Japanese with English subtitles. Bookings are essential. Please see all details on the attached flyer.
October New Japanese Conversation Course for adults commences. Classes are run in 3 levels (Beginner, Transitional, and Intermediate) on Thursday and Saturday mornings. Please see the flyer for dates and times.
October 19 & 20 National Biennial Conference of the Federation of Australia Japan Societies hosted this year by AJS-NSW
November 2 & 3 National Symposium on Japanese Language Education in Sydney

Sunday, December 2 Japanese Language Proficiency Test will commence at 11am at Perth Modern School in Subiaco. Test candidates must have registered for the test during the online registration period August 1 to September 6.

      Hi Stella, the Japan Festival is Saturday, March 10 from 11am to 6pm in Forrest Place, Perth City.
